The postcard was printed by Wm G Hoffman of Chicago as part of a Woodstock series. It is numbered 719. The photo seems to have been taken earlier than No. 720 Birds Eye View since the trees and plantings are shorter.
The photo could have been taken any time between 1906, when the factory buildings on the right were constructed, and 1914 (the postmark date written on the back of a similar Jim Keefe postcard).

On the left side of the photo the backs of buildings that front on East Judd street and North Benton street are visible. The depot was replaced in 1912 with the one still used today.
The photographer is unknown. The handwriting on the negative does not match any known local photographer.
The postcard photo is dark and was probably printed before 1907 since there is room left on the front for messages. This postcard was dated 1908 and was sent to Howard Stone in Norway.

The Oliver Typewriter headquarters building was completed in 1907 and two floors were added in 1920. The cast iron exterior features typewriter-related motifs. The building was declared a Chicago Landmark in 1984. In the 1990s when the adjacent Oriental Theatre expanded its backstage area the interior of the Oliver Typewriter building was gutted but one-third of its original steel structure, as well as the building's Dearborn facade and a portion of its alley façade were preserved.]]>
