Title

Square bricklaying 1912

Description

Workers are preparing to lay bricks on the Square at Cass and Benton streets. Workmen have dumped wheelbarrows full of rocks which will pave the way for the bricks that will be laid on top. Many bricks are stacked under awnings of Benton St. Two men stand on a platform that has a slanted board leading to the street. A contraption that could be a brick oven is to the left of the platform. A McHenry County Fair banner is strung from Murphy Block building to the Square park. The fair dates are August 17-20.
