Spring House 1936
Title
Spring House 1936
Description
The Spring House is in deep shade with the buildings on N. Benton behind it. The caption says it was taken just before it was taken down.
There is a water fountain inside and a few "fishscales" missing from the rof edge.
This photo is mounted on cardboard poster from the City Hall Golden Jubilee September 4, 1940 along with five photos from 1937.
According to an article from the Woodstock Sentinel Feb. 4, 1938, the building was razed for safety reasons--"Workmen tearing down the building today merely had to give it a good push and it fell over."
100 N. Benton: First National Bank
