Post Office Foundation NW
Title
Post Office Foundation NW
Description
This is the first in the series of photos that documented the construction of the Post Office on Johnson St. taken July 1, 1931. It shows the measuring lines and a cement mixer in front of the Montgomery Ward & Co. Retail Store wall and sign.
In the background, an attractive gas station on Throop Street can be seen, probably where the bank parking lot is now.
Only a selection of the post office construction photos are being scanned, particularly the ones with buildings in the background--usually now demolished. The others are filed in the black vertical files under Woodstock--Post Office
