This postcard shows the Square park trees in full leaf before the renovations in 1912. The Spring House is the only visible landmark.The railings on the edge are wood posts with rope or chain in between them.
E. C. Kropp company of Milwaukee was in business from 1907 - 1956. An identical postcard for sale on the web shows a postmark of 1907.
The message on back: Hello Bright Eyes, I love my Woodstock, but oh you Chicago. Having a fine time. Will see you soon. Yours, H. Sullivan. It was addressed to (Miss) A. E. Griffin, Chicago and was postmarkd 1910.
Earlier edition of this postcard is from Jim Keefe's collection. It is postmarked 1906 and the front says M. Sherman & Sons, Woodstock, Ill., Publishers. Front message dated Aug 17 06:
Hello Miss Scott . Here I am. Lovingly, Jessie
