Description

This series of 7 photos was taken the first Memorial Day after the Square was restored by Columbia Pictures following the filming of Groundhog Day.The bandstand is decorated with bunting, spectators line the sidewalks or sit in lawn chairs. In photos 4 & 5 the honor guard stands at attention. Photos 6 and 7 were taken before any people had arrived.

Photo #6 would make an excellent illustration of the Square on Memorial Day. It shows the square and bandstand, courthouse, soldier's monument and flag.
