Fire at Armory 1910 from Calhoun St

1910 black and white photograph of a burned building in Woodstock, Illinois. Many men and boys are standing on and around the rubble.

Title

Fire at Armory 1910 from Calhoun St

Description

This dark print of the same fire at the Woodstock Armory on Calhoun Street as in ID 438 is taken from a different angle and at an earlier time. The photographer is standing on Calhoun St and more of the back wall is standing. The house that was on the right side of the previous photo is now barely showing on the extreme left. Again, many people are looking directly at the camera.

The brick building with the balconies (216 S. Jefferson) still stands. Note the modes of transportation: horse & buggy, bicycle (very popular at the time), the dirt road and the wooden sidewalk.
