Woodstock Typewriter Shipment on Train Platform - c1914
Title
Woodstock Typewriter Shipment on Train Platform - c1914
Description
Four freight wagons loaded with Woodstock Typewriters are lined up on the railroad platform with several people posing in front of them. The background shows the Clay Street side of the building at 101 Church Street.
The Emerson Typewriter company changed its name to Woodstock Typewriter in April 1914. The clothing on the bystanders seems to be of that era.
Since the postcard was given to the library with many other items from the Sherburne family, it is possible that the man and woman are Sherburnes, owners of the Sherburne Motor Company at 109 Church St.
