Description
This colorized postcard shows men leaving the Oliver typewriter factory by the main brick sign on the Chicago Northwestern railroad tracks. Ironically, they are passing the sign on the tracks that reads "No Thoroughfare Keep Off."
The postcard was printed by Wm G Hoffman of Chicago as part of a Woodstock series. It is numbered 719. The photo seems to have been taken earlier than No. 720 Birds Eye View since the trees and plantings are shorter.
The photo could have been taken any time between 1906, when the factory buildings on the right were constructed, and 1914 (the postmark date written on the back of a similar Jim Keefe postcard).
