Clay Street school was built in 1905, having four rooms at that time. In 1921, it was enlarged and improved to eight rooms.
Additions in 1946, 1968, 1969, and 1997 plus other alterations have hidden the building in this photo. According to an article about the school's centennial celebration in 2006, remnants of the old building can be seen underground near the teacher's lounge.
