The photograph was taken from the north-west corner of the Woodstock Square Park.  In the park are young and mature trees and bushes.  Automobiles are seen parked around the park and in front of the buildings.
Photo taken from inside the Square Park shows the businesses on the west side of Cass St. It can be dated from 1941/2 (A & P groceries replaced by True Value Hardware at 128 Cass) to 1947 as shown by the date on the message.

Three men stand in front of the frame building at 108 Cass. This was the last wood frame building on the Square which would burn in 1936. Wien's replaced it in 1937 with the brick building that became the Tip Top Café in the movie Groundhog Day.

Built in 1883 by Dr. Cassinus N. Kendall dentist, the building was specifically designed to house B. S. Austin's grocery store (see photo ID 62). Austin changed the awning in 1885. Kendall died May 9, 1893.
